A Tale of Truth

Shivinder, for me SMS, was and has always been a source of inspiration. A curious, sharp, well mannered, bubbly and ideas guy, always seen to be inclined to do something good;

particularly for those needing help and support. His natural warmth, sense of humour and realism was visible and felt with appreciation by one and all. He was unquestionably people’s man and always stood for and supported any good cause. A thorough gentleman, believed in and demonstrated the principles of civility, propriety and being humane. He did not differentiate between people. Highly committed to professional values and ethics, he always looked for something unique in every person to be made the best use of. He was known to be igniting the minds, accelerating the spirits and building the tempo.

A lot of cherished memories of being with him or experiencing him, refuse to fade away even after more than a decade. Over a period of time, my colleagues shared with me that his qualities further got refined to move up to touch spirituality.

Fortis, of which, I was a member of initial eleven and made it to its adulthood working very closely with SMS, now when I see in a state of controversy, pains me inexplicably. It defies any logic knowing SMS well that he could be a party even passively to or allow anything happening wrong to Fortis, which he had created passionately by giving all his best to make it an organization of reckoning, more than anybody else.

I feel proud to hear from people that he created a unique sense of belonging amongst people alike an esprit de corps of the highest order with an informal work culture riding over formal patient-centric delivery of results. It is unbelievably unfortunate, even to imagine what is being learned from media. But there is a saying & I quote- “Things do turn wrong despite there being the best of the man for none of his faults.”

Below is a testimonial from all Fortisians as worded by Mr. Dev Joshi:

My dear SMS,

From drawing board to start up, From one to many,

From milestones and targets, To motivation and progress,

From failures and setbacks, To moving ahead and success,

From different shades to unison, To making work fun and learning,

You stood with us, Through all these happenings,

Your leadership is what has given us wings,

Thank you! Fortisians
