My countrymen, when I leave my home for work, I ask for wisdom to heal my patients. I pray for ability to treat your loved one. Believe me if I had the power to give you happiness, I would not let it pass by you. It hurts me as much as it pains you, to see your loved one suffer. Believe me, my countrymen, if I had the wand to push away the God of Death, I would use it each time.
Medicine is a profession packed with compassion. Please don’t open it so harshly that it falls apart. Many before you have tried. However the package continues to hold itself with its robust strings!
Allow me to love my day and not live in fear that you may hurt me! Allow me to recite “The Daffodils” with William Wordsworth…
“For oft when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood
They flash upon that inward eye
Like a bliss of solitude
And then my heart with pleasure Fills
And dances with the daffodils”
I promise to do even better if you believe in me My Countrymen!
